MEANT TO BE (50 year anniversary)

The spark that lit our passion so long ago,
became a flame that continued to glow,
As was our love that was meant to be,
but then unknown to you and me.

Like a candle that burns forever,
or a river never reaching the sea,
our love was meant for eternity,
Only now is known to you and me.

As our sun now is setting,
but our love shows no age
the love that we knew
on our lifetime stage,

Gives us pause to wonder
with our lives so replete
with bounties from Heaven,
was it Him we did meet?

For if God is love,
it must have been He
That touched our hearts,
as it was meant to be.
